Writing complex access queries that run against salesforce ODBC connections directly can result in errors and run a long time. We have over 40,000 contacts in salesforce. > > I use access to create custom spreadsheets from salesforce data. I found that by creating an access DB with ODBC links to salesforce, I could create a set of queries that first pulled data from SF. Then use complex access queries against that local data -- conveniently saving the queries for reuse. I haven't run into any issues with using up my salesforce API call quota by using this method.
