I attempted to cancel before the renewal charge, yet I was still billed and then denied a refund. What made this worse was the cancellation process itself. Their system repeatedly sent the same automated email over and over, never progressing to the next step. At no point does SEMrush clearly disclose that these email responses are AI-generated, which is misleading and wastes a lot of time. The process only moved forward after I explicitly asked to speak with a human, something that is not clearly indicated anywhere in the cancellation flow. Even after following the steps and attempting to cancel in good faith before being charged, SEMrush refused to issue a refund.
